Loving Fur this season...Faux of course....

I'm having a thing with fur this season.  Fake, of course.  I've never owned fur accented clothing before...but I own a few pieces now!  I fell in LOVE with this red DKNY jacket at the consignment shop.  I didn't go in with the intention to buy, only to pick up my check.  It turns out that I had a check AND an in-store credit.  The credit amount was $23.69......which was funny because the jacket in my hand was exactly $23.00

I tried it on and fell in love.  The fur is so soft.  Its DKNY...a very good company, and it was calling my name.  So I used the store credit of course.

I feel so plush in this....the body is soft, smooth suede.

I was feeling a little retro in this black and white polka dot tulip skirt.  If photographed a little funny, but if you click on the pics you can get a better look at it.

Every thing but the shoe, tights and necklace is thrifted.  It has some swirl action going on.
Necklace; Lia Sophia

Anne Klein booties.  They don't look cute at all in this photo; in fact they look a little ortho...but I promise, they are much cuter in person.

Lia Sophia.....I got my starter kit; which has several really great pieces.  My kick off party is Saturday. I'll be sure to take pictures. I hope its well attended and that I meet sales goals...I want to earn the free jewelry to build my stock for shows.
This necklace has a bit of a retro feel that really complimented the skirt.

Loved wearing this outfit today.
Tomorrow...I'm voting.
I'm looking forward to asserting my vote!
I HOPE YOU ARE VOTING TOMORROW.

  2. Gorgeous ... love the jacket and last year was the first time I bought anything with fur. Love your pendant too.

Hope all goes off well with the voting. I've watched a little of the debates and we're hearing that Obama has a narrow lead.

    Hope you're warm and safe.

  3. Wow, $23 for a furry DKNY coat is a pretty good deal, I love the quality of their clothes and they make the best fitting jeans. That coat is just too lovely, it looks so soft and I am loving the fun color, it's really different and stands out.

Yes, voting tomorrow! (Even though the President is almost always announced before our polls even close, but it's the thought that counts.) It's going to be a pretty big day.

  5. I love that skirt! Speaking of fur, real fur.......about 2 weeks ago I passed up a genuine fur coat in EXCELLENT condition at the thrift store. It looked like it had never been worn. I tried it on and it was too tight. I probably could have gotten it for less than $20. Instead I took it to the ladies at the check out and told them what a nice jacket it was and not to 'give it away'. Turns out that one of then purchased it for $20, then sent it to someone else who sold it for MUCH more in her shop (in another state). The 2 women are splitting the profit and the gal who purchased it will take her $20 and give the rest to the thrift store. Isn't that nice?

  6. Lovely red faux fur! I don't have an issue with vintage fur or accessories (I wear leather, so that would be rather hypocritical!), but not new.

    1. I get it....because what already exisits...needs to be used before buying new...and all the things that go with that.

  9. Lisa if your store credit was just over 23.00 USD and this jacket cost 23.00 USD - well this jacket was what the Thrift Shopping Fairy had in hand for you :)
