Back to Reality....Until Next Month!

I'm back to reality until mid October, then I will be dancing another competition.
I'm grateful that it was a holiday weekend during this comp so that I had time to review my lecture and do some homework before returning to school.  I needed a day to recover too, because competition is draining.
I didn't book a room at the hotel for this comp as I often do, so it was much more physically exhausting because I had no quiet restful place to go during the six hour break between the daytime heats and the evening scholarship dance.

Calvin Klein dress, T.J. Maxx; thrifted cardi; Anne Klein iflex 'Poppin' shoes; unbranded leather belt, T.J. Maxx; unbranded necklace.
I'm happy to be back to my normal self...to have my normal energy level restored.  Yesterday I took it easy; did some pleasure reading, went to see my mom in the hospital and then took a little shopping trip with my friend Suzi.  I've worn this striped Calvin Klein dress many times this summer, but yesterday I added some flash to it and I really love the look.

It was hot yesterday; 89 degrees in September!

What the heck am I doing here???

So I was a little bit bad....I purchased some new shoes and a butt-kicking new royal blue dress to wear to watch the professional events at the October comp.  Aren't theses Kenneth Cole Reaction shoes sexy?  I'll post the dress when I wear it but I had to share these shoes right away.  I purchased them for $20.00 at T.J. Maxx.  I kind of fell a little bit in love with them.

I'm really keeping a close eye on the shopping, but I think these are very versatile and my cost per wear will be very low.

I will be back in class tonight, learning how to construct a Logic Model for program planning.

I'm relieved to be getting back into the swing of things, but the excitement of the upcoming competition will again be upon me soon.
Be Safe everyone and enjoy this beautiful day!

  1. Such a great striped dress! I have yet to find the perfect one. The red accents are always a great combo to black and white stripes. And yes, your new shoes are super hot!!! Heather

    1. Thank you, I really do love my little striped dress. I am so relieved to get back to the routine...but soon to disrupt it again with another whirlwind frenzy in October. 'Whirlwind frenzy' is an apt description!

  9. Those shoes are fabulous. I love the color and the mix of textures. Really just perfect.

Also, if you have the opportunity to take a pole dancing class, I totally recommend it! Our instructor also teaches burlesque and we get a little of that too, which is nice, but I can definitely vouch for pole dancing.

    1. Thank you.

The studio where I do my ballroom practice does offer pole dance, so I may just do it!

    2. Thank You, Gracey.

The studio where I take my ballroom lessons also has a pole dance teacher. I'm seriously considering it.

    1. CPW is a relatively new concept to me...but I have really been trying to purchase only things that I will get plenty of wear out of and are versatile. My striped dress has definitely had a low cpw!
