Green Boots!

Its hard to believe that I'm too warm in December.  In the midwest it was 71 degrees today.

I thought I would need tights and a sweater, but quickly found it was very warm.
I love this outfit.  The boots, dress and sweater are all thrifted.

Calvin Klein silk scarf (from T.J. Maxx) hides the plunging neckline of the dress but is delicate enough not to compete with the necklace.
I wanted to add a touch of green into my outfit to pick up the color of the lace up boots, so I added the LS cameo necklace and the delicate Jo Covey knit "shrunken" sweater.

This Lia Sophia "ruffle" bracelet is delicate and pretty and  very smooth to the touch.  I'm very tactile as well as visual and I couldn't stop touching the bracelet; It adore this piece.

It was so hot today in the building that I had to shed the sweater quickly.  I like the dress even better without the sweater!

The BOOTS.  Sigh, swoon.....I love my new-to-me boots.  Hubs hates them.  Hmmmmmmphh.  What does he know!?

These boots are from Fornarina....and I can't find them online to learn their origins and price.  I really love them and it felt like I was wearing clouds on my my feet! There were in pristine condition at the consignment store and I just had to invite them to live with me.
I had happy feet today.
I noticed a number of people giving my boots first and second glances.  I think they are just too much for the Midwest (University) style community....but I'm swooning over them !!!!

Today was the last day of full-day class for the semester.  I glad to be able to take a breather for a bit!

  1. I just adore those boots! So cute. My husband hates all my favourite shoes - he likes the classic pointy toe pumps, ha ha!

  2. 71 degrees?! I am so flippin' jealous right now, we're a little over a hundred degrees colder than you right now! (Ahhhhh, 71 sounds amazing!)

These boots! Oh wow, i bet people were taking second looks, they're amazing, I love the super thick laces and the green color with the stitching is so unusual, they really stand out.

    1. Thank you Heather. They were fun and comfortable to wear.

I like not needing a jacket, but 71 might be a bit too warm for my liking in December! I should not complain....I am grateful for such easy weather!

  5. I like the idea of the scarf to hide plunging necklines. Very smart tactic, and what a great scarf it is! It's so hard to dress for 'warm' winters, isn't it?

    1. Yes it is hard to dress for warm winers, but for me even harder to dress for any summer day!!

  6. You look great as usual! That bracelet is beautiful and I have already told you that I love your LS necklace! I wished we had LS in Sweden too, and Anthropologie, and great thrift stores, and Target.... Ohh Santa will be very busy if he will fulfill all my wishes! Glad to hear that you will have some time to breath.

  9. That dress is lovely, I can see why you like to show it off without the cardigan!
Funny, I have Fornarina boots too, AND they are green! Mine are suede and very very high heeled, but otherwise quite simple and clean in their styling. I should wear them on my blog to show them to you :)

Sorry I've been scarce - life has changed a little on my side so I'm battling to read all the blogs I love and comment on all the outfits.

Hope your enjoy your break ... our school year ends this week. Big changes for Jarod next year as he enters high school!

Merry happy and bright is how I hope your season will be. Hugs

    1. Oh boy, a high schooler! :)

Wendy, just take care of yourself, blogs can always wait. I look at blogging and reading blogs as my time to decompress and relax. I'm addicted to reading magazines and I'm trading magazines for blogs so that I reduce my spending.
