Little Accessories....

Hello everyone.  I'm still in hiding a bit, trying to adjust to the loss of my Mom, but trying to keep things pretty normal.  Just doing the things I do has helped me, but I have bouts of feeling weak and stressed.  Its just a tough time that I have to get through and I will.

I played around with some fall accessories today; especially some pretty hats.  I love hats!  Until this year, I didn't think I could wear them.  Finally, they're are being made in smaller sizes that actually fit my head.
If I didn't have the extra weight and curvy pear shaped figure, I would be really small!
Just to give you and idea of how small:  my wedding ring size is 3 and 1/4.  Glasses, sunglasses, hats, bracelets and rings have been very hard for me to find; these things were never made for smaller adults. I have been finding more choices now than in the past;
Kate Spade makes beautiful smaller eyeglass frames and I have found a few bracelets that work...but not the bangles I so adore and covet.  Bangles fall right off.

Accessories really take an outfit  to a higher level.  Especially fall accessories with rich color and texture.  I like the way this infinity loop scarf drapes.  I'm going to get a lot of wear from this scarf.

Oh my gosh, was I excited to find these Italian boots.  They are super comfy; chocolate suede and a little sexy.  I love them.  They are a great investment and so nicely made..they have an ALL Leather lining!

I love this black Fedora...my facial expression, not so much!
I've been so busy trying to juggle all the necessary arrangements and school.  I haven't been dressing up  much...but I wanted to share my hats with you....a tiny little glimmer of excitement and normality that will help carry me through.

That and my family, friends and my lovely new blog friends.

I really love the hats and boots....since I have been able to find smaller things lately, I can actually enjoy wearing them!

  2. I use to work in a jewelry store and a size 3 1/4 is tiny! It can be so hard to find rings to re-size down that small and it really is impossible to find bangles in that size, I feel for you!

And again, I am so sorry about your loss.

    1. Thank you Katie.
I've always had a hard time finding jewelry. Love bracelets but can't find many that fit. The ring size is an issue...the integrity of the ring's design is compromised in many of them.

Bangles just fall off my wrist.....I have bangle envy for those who can wear them!

  5. You have my sympathy for the loss of your Mother.

My hat problem is just the opposite. My head is big and it is hard to find hats that fit. I cannot imagine how hard it would be for you to find rings and bracelets!

    1. Thank you Debbi.

I suppose once upon a time hats came in more size options and were easier to find!

    1. I must blame those boots on you. ;)
Because you did that boot post a bit ago and made me crave a good pair of boots. I got very lucky with these....I went into a store to used the restroom while my hubby and son were int he shoe store next door; I came out the restroom and ran right onto those boots. Oh I love them.

The boots are beautiful. Hats are nice but I can't seem to look good in them.

    1. Thank you,

I think everyone can wear hats. For the longest time I thought I couldn't, but I just had to find the right style. Often it is the hairstyle that makes hats look wrong. When I had fuller, curlier hair...my hair would stick out at odd angles and look funny with a hat. Now I wear them fairly often and feel good in them!
