Booties....

I finally wore those booties I purchased at the Nine West shoe outlet when my niece was visiting.
They're the leather ones that were clearanced out at $14.99.
I love them.
I wasn't sure when I wore them around the house, if they would work out.  The shaft of the boot felt very stiff when I would walk and I thought the friction might irritate my shins.  That's not the case though.  They are a bit stiff, but not to irritating when I'm wearing tights and I think they will get softer with wear.  I did have to put a cushion insole in as I do with all of my shoes....I have tender, fussy dancers feet; I need the extra protection from impact.  I've never owned a pair of booties and didn't know if they suited me, but I think they are going to work out well.
I really enjoyed wearing them today.

Ignore the crazy lady wind blown hair...nothing could tame it today.
This is a dress I have worn before on the blog.  Its a Ralph Lauren and it only cost me $5.00 at the Goodwill.  Its very plain and simple in cut and color and I though I might only use it as an around the house dress, but I've reached for it a number of times for days I want to wear a dress but not put too much fuss into it.
I don't wear any blue either...but I am loving this dress.

 Bootie view....

I really adore this zebra scarf.  I wear it often.  I love it so much I bought two..just in case I lose one of them.  Classmates and coworkers frequently tell me they are going to swipe it from me!  Its been really versatile.

I had lunch today and yesterday at my favorite little lunch spot...and adorable sandwich and ice cream shop called "What's the Scoop".  I've been on fall break the last two days and just meandered around town between running all the necessary errands to take care of my mom's business.
I will have to do a feature on this sweet little spot one day.  They are 50's themed and have the coolest jukebox.  Both days I opted for their chicken noodle soup, my ultimate comfort food.  Best chicken noodle soup I've ever tasted.  Oh...their stuffed green pepper soup is sublime.

Tomorrow I return to work.  I'm looking forward to seeing my class again and returning to the normal routine of things.

Have a great rest of the week, friends.

    1. You old blog is a great blog and inspiring. I should be trying to make that kind of commitment to not buy any clothing for that length of time...but I don't know how successful I would be. Thank you for the compliment!

  6. Glad to know I'm not the only one whoes had doubts about booties. I just didn't know if they'd suit me either. I finally broke down and got a pair this year.
I think yours work well with the dress and scarf. Sometimes I buy two of a certain thing also!

    1. Hopefully you love the ones you bought! I think the pair I bought work for me because they have a narrower leg opening. Some of them are so wide!
