Black and Blue

I didn't get to take an outfit picture today; my camera battery was not charged!  I did find this very close representation of what I wore.  Black wrap dress, bright blue patent pumps (mine had mary jane straps) gold hoops, delicate gold watch, blue scarf, simple black leather bag.  I felt simple, classic and pretty.
I'm still feeling "written out" today so I'm keeping this short.
Comp is coming soon!  Can't wait.
By the way...the pink princess dress got the most votes!  There's a pretty good chance I might be wearing that dress at this comp..but I'm bringing my new chocolate and vanilla dress too...just in case.
I feel a little sniffle and a tickle in my throat...oh gosh I hope I don't get sick before the comp!
I'm going to take some EmergenC supplements, go to bed and hope I can keep it at bay!
I've been so boring lately.....

  3. I love this post, I want everything you showed here! I am so into blue and black right now and have been wearing it a lot. I love that we own the same pair of Tahari red high-heeled penny loafers. Aren't they the best? I have them in black too. Wanted to tell you, my son has been in his ballroom class for 2 weeks and loves it. More kids are there than I was expecting, from every borough in New York City. It is such a great program and I'm glad my son is a part of it! We are going to practice the swing tonight, it's his favorite dance and I told him he needs to teach it to me. XO, Jill

    1. Jill, I'm glad your son is enjoying the classes. It's so good for kids to have a special skill and ballroom is a great one to have. Swing is so much fun! I enjoy it so much, although for my lessons and competitions I'm strictly Smooth and Standard; no Latin or Rhythm. I dance swing and other dances only socially. There is so much opportunity for ballroom in NYC....its like the mecca for ballroom. Maybe you check out Times Square Ballroom studio. Gosh I can't remember the name accurately right now...but it's a studio in NY and it's owned by Tony Meredith and Melanie LaPatin who were national latin champs in the 90's.....they were so so so so fabulous and now sometimes do chore for So You Think You Can Dance. If you are interested in seeing them....I can send you a you tube clip of them...they're my have latin dancers. I bet it would inspire you son!

  4. I absolutely love the simple elegance of this outfit, and I can imagine how beautiful you looked in it! I need to find more ways to wear scarves. And then I need to buy more scarves.

    1. I love scarves. I actually wore my scarf tied like a man's tie. It was a silk scarf and the colors were similar. Silk scarves tie and drape so nicely.

      Thanks for the compliment!

  5. This outfit is so you:)) Here's a tip for you if you feel a little itchy in the throat gargle with apple cider vinegar. It works for me:)) Sometimes, I also put a little bit of sea salt in too.

    1. Sounds like a potent remedy, Joanna. I'm a bit wimpy about trying new things...but if its between that and not dancing the comp...I'll try it!

  6. You know, I think black and blue is one of the best colour pairings out there. I was nothing short of mildly obsessed with this past spring, and haven't lost my interest in it one iota since then. In fact, I was just thinking last night about possible winter wardrobe looks I could put together featuring that lovely combo.

Thank you very much for entering my corset giveaway today, dear Lisa, I completely appreciate it and wish you the very best of luck!

  7. This is so you, and as the others already have said I am sure you looked great in it. Good luck with your studies, I have been buried in data cleaning this week, and than my statistic software complained and crashed, and I will need to rerun my scripts! I hope I will get some it-support tomorrow and then get to the analyses.

Oh boy...data screening...what fun. Do you use SPSS? I wish I could afford the SPSS program....at least I can use it at school!

    2. Yes, I mainly use SPSS for data cleaning. Most schools here have a deal that the students and staff can have an extra license to use at their home computers, if there is a lot of SPSS users at your school they should try to get a deal like that.

    3. We have to rent SPSS to use and its very expensive and limited term. I'm still fairly new with SPSS...but I enjoy it. LOL; is it weird to enjoy a statistics program...hahaha!
