I thought I would share a few photos that I just received from a fellow competitor.
This dance style is American Rhythm and I'm pretty new at it. I had a great time trying it out at the competition. Fortunately, many of the concepts from Smooth and Standard style transfer well to this style....such as posture concepts and keeping head and eyes up and not looking at the floor.
oops.....looking down at the floor!
American Rhythm is a blast and I had a great time, but it will never replace my love for American Smooth (Waltz, Tango, Foxtrot, Viennese Waltz) and International Standard (Waltz, Slow Foxtrot, Tango, Viennese Waltz and Quickstep)!
How fun! Do you do your own hair? I love all the sparkle in your outfit. You look great and happy:))
ReplyDeleteJoanna....I can't do my own hair! I do my own makeup which is quite dramatic, but I have to have a pro do my hair; they have pro ballroom hairdressers at comp and I always use one!
Deletethanks for sharing
ReplyDeletealways enjoy the rhumba on DWTS
Rhumba is one of the most difficult Rhythm and Latin dances for me to do...but its beautiful when its done right.
DeleteYou look absolutely fabulous in these pictures Lisa, and as always when you dance (or write about it) you look very happy! And someone has very beautiful slim legs too! (and I am not talking about Marcel)! Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteHahaha...Anna you are so funny!
DeleteThank you for the compliment. I am very happy when I'm dancing.
You look absolutely fabulous in that green dress! And you look like you're having a ball!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I rented that dress and got so many compliments...I'm thinking I need to find one like it or purchase that one!
DeleteWow! How exciting! I admire your attitude, courage and presentation.
ReplyDeleteThank you....it is very exciting and I encourage everyone to try dance.
DeleteDance Times Square is the studio in New York I think I mentioned to you once before...or intended to anyway.
That color is so stunning on you. I am such a fan of ballroom dancing and you look like you are having a great time. I took Rhumba and Tango lessons and absolutely loved it.
ReplyDeleteThank you LV. I have gotten some great feedback on the color of this dress...so I know that's the color I need to buy when I actually purchase a Rhythm/Latin dress in the future.
DeleteI hope you are planning on continuing to dance!
You look so freaking gorgeous, Lisa! Just stunning! I love how you carry yourself when you're dancing, like, "It's my world, enjoy the show!"
ReplyDeleteSheila....thanks for the compliment.....I threw my head back in laughter when I read your comment! Big smiles, chuckles and giggles! That's the only way to dance.
DeleteWould you believe that I once was a whimsy, shrinking violet?
You look so pretty! And that lime green dress is gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteThank you! I love the dress and I wish it was mine..but I rented it from another dancer :)
DeleteBeautiful photos! I like the dress very much
ReplyDeleteYou look like you're having a blast!! The dress looks fabulous, and you look so confident! Love that second rhumba photo
ReplyDeleteThank you, Cara....I did have a blast!
DeleteYou look gorgeous and vibrant in this beautiful green dress!
ReplyDeleteI can see that you are a dancer with all your heart.
Thank you Sabine. I really do love dancing!
DeleteThis is awesome that you tried something new! Have you brought any new moves or tips into the styles of dance that you love because of your exposure to the new dance style?
ReplyDeleteThe styles that I dance well...(smooth and standard) require that posture be maintained at all times...that definitely carries over to rhythm and latin style!
DeleteTotally sounds like a blast! (??what am I? 16 in the year 1986?)
ReplyDeleteIt is a blast....and I still use that word too!
DeleteYou look so lovely in that lime green.
ReplyDeleteThank you.....it surprises me that I received so many compliments on the color of the dress. I might have to buy that one! It was a rental!
Deletethat does look like a ton of fun, and i love the color of your dress!
ReplyDeleteChic on the Cheap
Thank you, Lyddie. It is tons of fun. I rented the dress...but I really wish I owned it!
DeleteWhoa, you are quite the gorgeous lady in that green dress! (I swear, every color looks good on you but the light greens are just amazing on you.) I always enjoy seeing your dance photographs, you look like you have so much fun and get so much joy out of dancing!
ReplyDeleteThank you Katie. I rented the dress from a friend. I'd love to buy it when she's done with it....I just had such a good response to it.
