Hello everyone. I'm still in hiding a bit, trying to adjust to the loss of my Mom, but trying to keep things pretty normal. Just doing the things I do has helped me, but I have bouts of feeling weak and stressed. Its just a tough time that I have to get through and I will.

I played around with some fall accessories today; especially some pretty hats. I love hats! Until this year, I didn't think I could wear them. Finally, they're are being made in smaller sizes that actually fit my head.
If I didn't have the extra weight and curvy pear shaped figure, I would be really small!
Just to give you and idea of how small: my wedding ring size is 3 and 1/4. Glasses, sunglasses, hats, bracelets and rings have been very hard for me to find; these things were never made for smaller adults. I have been finding more choices now than in the past;
Kate Spade makes beautiful smaller eyeglass frames and I have found a few bracelets that work...but not the bangles I so adore and covet. Bangles fall right off.

I love this black Fedora...my facial expression, not so much! |
I've been so busy trying to juggle all the necessary arrangements and school. I haven't been dressing up much...but I wanted to share my hats with you....a tiny little glimmer of excitement and normality that will help carry me through.
That and my family, friends and my lovely new blog friends.
Good to hear from you Lisa, and that you are trying to find some normality and comfort in what must be a very difficult time - what lovely hats and boots. Thoughts with you and your family.
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteI really love the hats and boots....since I have been able to find smaller things lately, I can actually enjoy wearing them!
I use to work in a jewelry store and a size 3 1/4 is tiny! It can be so hard to find rings to re-size down that small and it really is impossible to find bangles in that size, I feel for you!
ReplyDeleteAnd again, I am so sorry about your loss.
Thank you Katie.
DeleteI've always had a hard time finding jewelry. Love bracelets but can't find many that fit. The ring size is an issue...the integrity of the ring's design is compromised in many of them.
Sending my prayers and love your way during this difficult time in your life. So sorry about the loss of your mother.

Thank You, Heather
DeleteI am sorry for the loss of your mother. I have the same issue with bangles, my wrists are just too small.
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteBangles just fall off my wrist.....I have bangle envy for those who can wear them!
You have my sympathy for the loss of your Mother.
ReplyDeleteMy hat problem is just the opposite. My head is big and it is hard to find hats that fit. I cannot imagine how hard it would be for you to find rings and bracelets!
Thank you Debbi.
DeleteI suppose once upon a time hats came in more size options and were easier to find!
I am very jealous of those boots indeed!! XXX
ReplyDeleteI must blame those boots on you. ;)
DeleteBecause you did that boot post a bit ago and made me crave a good pair of boots. I got very lucky with these....I went into a store to used the restroom while my hubby and son were int he shoe store next door; I came out the restroom and ran right onto those boots. Oh I love them.
Glad you are able to share a little bit. I wish I could wear hats! I love the look of them. My friend has tiny wrists and fingers....not me! :-(
ReplyDeleteI bet your friend has a hard time finding bracelets!
DeleteI think you could wear hats, you just have to find the right one!
Mourning is hard. Find comfort wherever you can.
ReplyDeleteThe boots are beautiful. Hats are nice but I can't seem to look good in them.
Thank you,
DeleteI think everyone can wear hats. For the longest time I thought I couldn't, but I just had to find the right style. Often it is the hairstyle that makes hats look wrong. When I had fuller, curlier hair...my hair would stick out at odd angles and look funny with a hat. Now I wear them fairly often and feel good in them!
Very sorry for your loss!
ReplyDeleteI really love the great accessories, fabulous boots and hats (I am obsessed with hats)!

Me too, Rebecca....I really love hats!
DeleteGlad to have you back! I think both dressing up/play with accessories and getting back to normal is a great strategy! The scarf and the boots are fabulous!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I love my new goodies! Really love my new boots...they are so comfy!
DeleteI love all your hats and those boots...and those shoes!
ReplyDeleteThinking of you during this sad time, hon. Be well and take care.
Thank you, Sheila.
DeleteI really love accessories! Especially hats. And boots. And shoes. And scarves. And necklaces. Tee hee hee!
Marvelous boots Lisa, they were a great find.
ReplyDeleteStill praying for you and your mom.
Prayers are much appreciated, Lorena!
DeleteThanks for the compliment. I really love my new boots!
