Under the Weather

I'm under the weather today.  In fact, I'm experiencing a double whammy.  I had a slight cold last week that turned into bronchitis.  Last week my son and husband had the flu, which they have graciously shared with me this week.

I just have to get through teaching tomorrow and then I can rest for the rest of the week........
I don't have a good outfit photo today...but my outfit was very similar to this one....
The scarf is a bit different and I tied it in a "round braid" tie....it was so cute.  I'll post the link and scarf picture in a few days when I'm back to my normal self.

Until then; enjoy yourselves!

Accessorizing a Little Black Dress; black, gold or silver

When choosing accessories for a little black dress....there are so many choices.

A little black dress can be the perfect backdrop for any accessory color, but I prefer to stick with simple and classic; black with pearl, soft gold or silver.  I'm really loving silver right now.

I have a formula that I follow; if my dress has an interesting neckline that should be showcased, I skip the necklace and choose a very pretty pair of dangle earrings that dust the shoulders and show off the dress.  I add a stack of delicate bracelets; often two or more of the same style on each wrist.  Sometimes I will wear two on one wrist and one on the other for a touch of asymmetry and then I add the perfect pair of black shoes.  Black velvet shoes can add some texture while keeping the lines clean and simple.

In this season of color, I love a perfectly accessorized little black dress above all others.

Black Tie Affair

My favorite type of formal wear has always been a simple black dress.

Nothing says quiet elegance like a black dress.

This is what I would wear as a spectator at an evening dance exhibition.  I love the simplicity and elegance of the classic pearl jewelry.  Pearl has luster rather than shine and sparkle which suits the graceful, clean lines of this dress.

I chose to pair two of the same necklace to fill in the neckline; I would adjust one slightly longer so that it appears to be one very full necklace.

Closed toe T-strap shoes are simple, beautiful and more comfortable than strappy, sandal heels.    I love the look of wide, matching pearl cuff bracelets for each arm.  Because the dress and accessories are so simple, I would carry a purse with unique feature, like this ladylike bow clutch.

I would feel like a million bucks in this evening wear........I'm ready for the next big event!

Dressing up grey casual

Oh, how I love this set.  I adore the neutral palette and the casual clothing taken up a notch and dressed up.  Polyvore is becoming my style crutch....Dressing up grey casual
