Post competition...I've left a trail of sparkle, glitter and crystals in my home!

Hi everyone...
I've not been as diligent about posting as I typically am...
I'm still struggling with this leg injury...
so comfort is key in my outfits right now.
I'm still in a good amount of pain, so I think a trip back to the physician is warranted.

All thrifted and comfy.
I'm looking forward to getting back into the swing of regular posting and wearing really great outfits..but I have much work to catch up on and so my outfit photos are on the fly, a bit haphazard or taken in a rush in the university bathroom mirror!
I'm always hoping that no one walks in on my exercise in vanity.
Until I can get back to my typical manner of posting...I'm sharing some additional ballroom photos...
These photos are in random order and there are a couple more outfit posts...
Hope you enjoy the sparkle and swoosh!

This is the bag that all lady competitors receive upon  signing in at the registration desk.  I LOVE this canvas tote!

....I found this cute Brighton lipstick charm and thought it would be fun and a good way to get talking about my Mary Kay business.
Oh, did I mention I'm doing this too?
Here's my site; please click on this or paste in your search.  You will then need to click on the Mary Kay site and click "find a consultant".

Attending a a "power hour" meeting with some Mary Kay ladies...
I do love specific products and am very loyal to them...
I love my Mary Kay and my Lia Sophia jewelry so much that of course I had to sell them!
I'm having a very good time doing so; helping women feel beautiful and making a bit of money as well.
I even did a little Mary Kay business at the competition.  A few ladies were looking for lipstick and mascara....

Now for a few more ballroom photos....

rolling out to take a bow...

...another photo dancing American Rhythm...It think this is a Cha Cha.  Yikes, I can't believe I'm wearing a dress this short.  Thank goodness for professional grad fishnet hose!
Ladies, fishnets are the way to go with any dress if you have any leg insecurities.  They make legs look really shapely!

and some SWOOSH photos that I took at the professional event

I love the feathers on this dress

I also adore the fabric draping on the back of this dress and hope to recreate it on my pink dress.

a little swirl

and a twirl

another lovely bathroom photo; super comfy sweater that I found in the consignment shop

If you click on this picture to enlarge it you can see the butterfly detail on this dress better; it was stunning.  This is the professional highlight performance by national champions Iveta and Gherman...who spent the entire weekend judging and them put on a spectacular spotlight performance late on Saturday night at the end of the competition

professional Gold American smooth competitors.

Iveta and Gherman again
ahhh...leg was feeling a little better on this particular day so I was able to dress a bit more like "me"

Lia Sophia abalone necklace

I paired this necklace with the one above.  I love the look of layered necklaces.

more swoosh...its so much fun to capture the swoosh

Pro gold competitiors; what a dramatic color combination.  Feathers on ballroom dresses are big this year....there were trails of feathers...

This is Rachel Mercedes...winner of the Gold American Smooth Professional title.  Rachel is super sweet; she and her mother own Diamond Dancesport in Hickory Hills, Illinois.  The little pale lavender Latin dress I purchased....I bought it from Rachel.

It takes a bit of time to recover and get my home in order after the Indiana Challenge competition.
I participate in more dances than the other competitions and take lots of stuff with me.
I find a trail of glitter, sparkle and crystals in home for weeks after the comp....
at times my man-centric home is feminized by the sparkles that trail behind me.

Tomorrow, I crack down and catch up on the work and then its back to work again.

By the way, I've been applying for full time jobs, so please send me some luck, good fortune or mojo, I think I need it!

  1. Oh, I love the dresses so much! So girly! You looked amazing - show those legs, Lisa!

Good luck with your Mary Kay. My aunt was a MK lady in the 80s, which is where I learned to put on make-up.

  2. I am sad to hear that you still have pain! You should definitely visit your physician again!

Cool pics, I can hear the swooshs!

Mary Kay's eye make-up remover is the best eye make-up remover I have ever tried (and I have tried many)!

    Have a great week!

  6. Oh no, if you're still in pain, you should defiantly see a doctor about it, those long term leg injuries are not good!
That said, it's so fun seeing more pictures of the competition, your dresses are so pretty and its fun to see pictures of you dancing, you look like you get so much joy from it. (and your flower abalone necklace is really gorgeous, I love abalone!)

  7. I hope your injury has healed by now.
Oh Mary Kay! they dont sell it here but I have an aunt in NM who also sells their goodies.
Honestly all of the products i have tried are excellent - and that lipstick charm seems like a very good way to begin a conversation and sales pitch.

    1. Hi Lorena,
Thank you for your good wishes. My leg injury is not fully healed; progress is slow, but getting there.
I do love their products and agree that they are excellent. That's why I sell both MK and LS; because I wanted to have affordable access to the good products!

      Hope you are doing well!
