On a Black and White Kick this Month!

Hi everyone.....
I'm on spring break!
What a relief to have a free week with no obligations...
except the tons of catch-up homework I have to do.

Since I'm taking this photo at the dance studio, I thought I would pose with a 'ballroom hand'.
The chunky bracelet came in a kit of retired pieces that LS advisors can purchase to give away at shows as gifts or prizes.  The kit is really affordable and contains 10 random pieces,"grab-bag" style.  We have no idea what we are getting.  I ordered one but wasn't sure it was going to be worth the investment. It was!  It was so fun to open the packages and find a pretty surprise.  I ended up keeping three of the pieces for myself!!!  I will post them at a later time.

I wore this necklace with yesterday's outfit to the dance studio for a lessons.  (I'm practicing for an upcoming showcase----dancing a fierce, defiant, tango to "It's My Life by Bon Jovi").
I layered this piece with the necklace above.
The knit cardigan was a thrifted piece. The fabric is similar to tee shirt material and the sleeves are ruched.  I didn't get a good picture of the cardigan, but its at mid-hip and is a bit full and 'swooshy'.  The name on the label is 'Isabella Rodriguez'.  I usually research the pieces I thrift, but I haven't done so yet, so I don't know anything about this line except that I really like the cardigan!  It's going to be a perfect summer weight topper.  The dress is a thrifted 'George' wrap dress.  It was really comfortable to wear; no shifting or drooping. Comfort is key!  I'm sure we have all experienced those wrap dress that are ill-fitting and shift, bunco or do other funky things that distract us as we go about our day.  Its no fun!

This is my new ballroom bag, by the direct sales/home party based company '31'.  I was carrying two totes to haul my ballroom things, and it was difficult to keep things organized.  I function so much better when I am organized.
This is the first piece I've purchased from 31 and I like it.  It is quite roomy, has many pockets on the outside (but none on the inside).  I can throw two pairs of dance shoes, an extra outfit, a cosmetic bag, magazines and snacks in the bag and still have room for more.  There are two mesh pockets on the sides for water bottles.  The fabric pattern is very pretty and the canvas feels durable and sturdy.  I love the option to monogram the bag.  I would prefer that there were pockets on the inside, but even without them its a great bag and I will definitely purchase another in the future.

...the actual color of the embroidered name is a deep wine/burgundy color.  The color in the picture above is more accurate.

I wore this Lia Sophia ring, 'Lazy Daisy' to meetings on Tuesday with....

...this outfit.  Comfy New York and Co knit trousers, clearanced, striped winter-weight tee by The Limited and blazer by O.M.C.  The blazer is a boutique piece that I would never have been able to afford if I had not found it on an extreme end of season clearance.  Its super-soft and feels like wearing a hug....
Layered Lia Sophia 'Panorama' necklaces.  (This necklace used to be called 'Reflections', which was perfect name because it is highly reflective.  LS often changes the names of its jewelry...)

Here's a close-up of the jacket....it has a 'slubby' texture that adds interest to the simple style and neutral color.

....I tied on a leopard scarf and stayed warm all day, despite the snow on the ground, the gloomy sky.

I plan to enjoy my week off (other than the research work and homework that I must do) and have lunches with my gal pals.  I'm going to have lunch with Rose and do a Mary Kay color consultation for her and then I plan to corral my busy cousin Rhonda and beg, plead or entice her in some way to join me for lunch on one of the other days.
On Saturday, I have a Lia Sophia show that one of my dance friends is hosting and I just know its going to be a wild time.  My dance girls know how to 'throw down'.

I'm so ready for this week of freedom and fun.

Ladies.....please take some time this week to indulge yourselves; have fun, breathe, do things just for you.  Grab your life and run with it!

  10. I also want to wear a huge as some turned down the heat again and it is freezing cold outside. Your beautiful blazer would fit perfectly into my wardrobe! :-) Love the lazy daisy ring - I really need to find out if someone is selling LS here in Sweden, otherwise I should be the first! Enjoy your break!

    1. Hi Anna.....

You can always purchase your Lia from me and I can ship it. If you check their web site and they sell in Sweden, let me know. I hope they do....because they sell by a 'home party' format, which is so much fun.

I believe that the blazer does look like it would fit in your wardrobe. Maybe if we meet up at the GSA convention this year we can shop! Or maybe I'll have to bring you a Lia Sophia surprise. By the way....I don't have my surveys and the application competed in time to present but I may still be able to do the poster session.

    2. Hi Lisa, that is so sweet of you to suggest to bring a surprise for me, but of course you don't have to. If nothing unexpected happens I will go to the convention, and if you come too, I will place a LS order from you in advance. Actually, as soon as I get to the office I will submit my abstract. I always try to stay at least 1-2 days more when I go to conferences, for some sightseeing and shopping! I would love to go shopping with you!
