Winter Day Trip to Chicago

I would love to wear an outfit like this on a day trip to Chicago.  I'm only 55 minutes from the city and I should make the effort to get up there soon.  Layers are a necessity, so I would layer a couple pairs of socks, tights and wear a warm base layer.  I would choose a cape (as long as the temp is greater than 30) as outerwear because they are very comfortable and unrestrictive.  I  would probably carry and extra wrap scarf in my bag.  Winter Day Trip to Chicago

  2. How stylish and cute! You should definitely make the effort to go; you'll enjoy it more than you expect. That happens to me every time I visit NYC.

    1. Yes...lots of warm layers; Chicago is really bitter cold at this time of year.

I love black and white/black and cream color scheme too. I could do my entire wardrobe in those two colors.

  9. I wish I lived that close to Chicago...I would probably go at least once a month. Your outfit here is very chic. I would probably add some sort of splash of color--red bag, colorful scarf or something--for moi.

    1. I would love to own this outfit, but I'm missing the cape. I think a splash of color would be beautiful too. I see hot pink!

  10. I love black and white looks - though I would need to be really, really warm to consider spending a day out walking around a city right now when it's literally freezing out!

And in response to your comment, no fashion degree, just lots of hours spent blogging, I think!!
Glad I was able to provide some inspiration, do let me know when you wear it!

    1. I agree; I would need to be super warm too and I don't know if that outfit would be warm enough. I think I would need more of a barrier from the gusty Chicago wind and the lakefront cold!

    1. Black and cream is my all time favorite combination. I would wear it every day if I could. They are great pieces aren't they? Most of them are way out of my budget!
